Hibbett Launches Kids-Focused App and E-Commerce Site Ahead of Back-to-School

Hibbett, the athletics apparel and footwear retailer based in Birmingham, Alabama, has introduced a dedicated e-commerce platform and mobile app called Hibbett Kids, targeting children aged 13 and under. The app is now available on both Android and iOS devices.

Hibbett Kids offers a broad selection of shoes, apparel, and accessories from leading brands such as New Balance, Jordan, Nike, Crocs, and Adidas. The platform includes features designed to support busy parents, including installment payment options, a customer service chat, loyalty program access, personalized content, and daily product launches.

Bill Quinn, Hibbett’s Chief Information Officer, emphasized the retailer’s commitment to enhancing the digital shopping experience for families: “We’re expanding our digital footprint to better serve today’s busy families and offering a more convenient, seamless, curated shopping experience from the nursery years through the teen stage.”

Shoppers can filter products by criteria such as size, brand, gender, price, and color, making navigation simple and tailored.

This digital initiative follows Hibbett’s $1.1 billion acquisition by UK-based JD Sports last year, which has spurred further partnerships, including a joint loyalty program with Nike and Jordan.

Meanwhile, the broader athletic retail sector is seeing consolidation and innovation, with Dick’s Sporting Goods acquiring Foot Locker and Foot Locker enhancing its app to improve user engagement and loyalty rewards management.
