Brex Partners with Zip to Optimize Enterprise Spend Management Ahead of IPO

Brex, a fintech company specializing in corporate cards, has entered into a partnership with Zip, a procurement software startup, to enhance enterprise financial operations. The collaboration will integrate Brex’s virtual card technology into Zip’s platform, providing businesses with streamlined procurement and payment workflows. This aims to reduce unauthorized spending and simplify managing global expenses by enabling a unified card program across multiple teams.

Pedro Franceschi, CEO of Brex, explained the rationale behind the partnership: “When you're a startup, but you don't really have a complicated procurement workflow, then typically a corporate card works. But when you go into a more sophisticated enterprise, something like Zip really comes alive in a differentiated way, because you have a complicated procurement process.”

Zip CEO Rujul Zaparde added that the companies serve over 30,000 businesses collectively, including shared clients such as Anthropic, eToro, BetterUp, and Coinbase.

This move is part of Brex’s broader strategy to reduce cash burn and prepare for an eventual initial public offering (IPO). Previously, Brex partnered with Navan to combine corporate cards with travel management services through “BrexPay for Navan,” reflecting its ongoing focus on expanding enterprise solutions and improving profitability.
